Call for Board Members: Religious & Socio-Political Studies Journal

The Religious and Socio-Political Studies Journal (RSSJ) is seeking new RSSJ Editorial Board members to join our team. We are looking for scholars with expertise in religious and socio-political studies, especially those with a focus on Islam, Muslim communities, and related fields, particularly in Canada. As a member of the RSSJ Editorial Board, you will play a vital role in shaping the direction of the journal, contributing to its growth, and ensuring the high quality of its content.
Position Overview
Editorial board members are expected to:
• Assist in identifying and soliciting high-quality submissions for the journal.
• Evaluate submitted manuscripts for review.
• Assist with finding quality reviewers for articles.
• Contribute to the overall editorial direction and development of the journal.
• Promote the journal within academic and professional networks.
• Participate in bi-annual board meetings and collaborate on special issues and initiatives, including writing calls for papers and/or introductions to special issues.
Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualifications in religious studies, political science, sociology, Islamic studies, or related fields. Current graduate students (PhD candidates) with strong applications will be considered.
• A record of academic publications and/or research in areas related to the journal's focus.
• Previous editorial or peer-review experience is desirable, but not required.
• An interest in fostering (inter) disciplinary and methodological dialogue and advancing the study of religion and politics in contemporary society.
